• Firstly, you should be able to identify what are snails and slugs. Both have similar appearances but the significant difference between both of them is that snails have shells on their backs while the slugs don't have such. Both have the size of an inch to an inch and a half long.

These have soft slippery bodies and have dark colors such as black, green, teal and gray. Sometimes these have various patterns on their bodies combined with lighter colors. These leave a slimy trail of mucus behind so it is easy to identify and track them.

• Set up traps for those pests. There are several ways and materials that you can use to lure them into your traps. Beer, honey and yeast could lure such pests and you could set up traps to capture them. Use a concave container such as a saucer or plastic cup that has the sufficient height or depth so that the slugs and snails could no longer escape from it once inside the container. A mixture of honey, yeast and beer would lure those pests easily. You could also set up a cardboard with baits such as cabbages and oranges to lure them out. Pick them as soon as you could see them.

• Pick up those pests as soon as you see them especially the adult snails and slugs for these might reproduce again. Snails and slugs are slow movers, so catching them would be very easy as compared to catching a cat. Use gloves, tweezers or chopsticks to pick them up for these are slippery and slimy. The smaller and younger ones are very difficult to find so you might miss most of them. However, you don't have to worry that much for these wouldn't cause much damage compared to the adult and larger ones.

• Trapped and dead pests could be thrown in the trash can while there are ways to dispose the live ones. You could stomp on them, throw them on the streets or just throw them in a container filled with salt and water. Also, avoid spilling salt and water to your garden for it might ruin your soil and grass. You could also try leaving them under the sun and allow the sun's heat to destroy them.
